Bookswap

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals,

Do you have too many good books? Is your to be read pile staring silently at you in the corner, judging you for getting even more books when you haven’t read them yet? Do you want to share your favorite book in the world, that one you keep hoping for someone to pick up and read so you can talk to them about it, so much so you’d want to throw a book (figuratively) at someone? If so, you’re in luck!

Climate Justice Montreal is raising funds for the MAMO Premières Nations and Camp souveraineté KM 134, through a PWYC bookswap & bakesale fundraiser!

The event will take place April 4th, from 12 pm - 4 pm, at 1800 Av. Letourneux, Montréal, QC H1V 2N1

Bookswap rules: You can bring up to 8 books, and leave with as many books as you brought. Books must be in good condition! Please bring books you believe people would be interested in reading. Books can be fiction or non fiction, French or English. Suggested entry fee of 5$, but no one will be turned away from lack of funds. Please bring cash, or donate using the link bellow! https://www.gofundme.com/f/soutenez-le-camp-souverainete-defense-de-la-foret-a-km-134

Interested in helping out? We are looking for people to help bring baked goods for the bake-sale! Please email justiceclimatiquemtl@protonmail.com, and we can discuss the requirements in more details.

Please share the event with your friends! The more people that come, the better the book selection!

Camp Souveraineté, located at km 134 on the Parent Road, is a place dedicated to protecting Atikamekw Nehirowisiw Aski ancestral lands and passing on living ancestral knowledge. Guardians of the forest are building a healing and cultural center to welcome current and future generations.

Climate Justice Montreal is a group pursuing environmental and climate justice through education, mobilization and collective action in solidarity with directly affected communities.
